Early May -
Peony Walk and Reception at the Scott Arboretum, Swarthmore College, Wister Center, Swarthmore, PA
5:00- 6:30pm, with light reception
Tour the stunning and ever-expanding Scott Arboretum Tree Peony Collection to view the early-flowering tree peonies—the Chinese and Japanese cultivars. Explore the collection with experts from the Mid-Atlantic Peony Society and stay for a reception in the Wister Center with like-minded gardening enthusiasts.
Late May -
Peony Tour at members' homes
MAPS typically schedules 3 or 4 private tours of personal peony gardens. Herbaceous peonies will be at their peak if the weather cooperates. Take the opportunity to explore the varieties of tree, Itoh, and herbaceous peonies. Many of the varieties have been bought and received at MAPS events. Often the varieties will have plant labels so that if you see something you like, you will be able to make note of it. Refreshments are typically provided.

Woody (tree) Peony Grafting.
Join us for a hands on training to graft tree peonies. MAPS provides plant material, tools and instruction. You"ll leave the event with 3 or more woody (tree) peonies to add to your garden and the knowledge to propagate tree peonies on your own.

Dig and Divide with PLANT SALE AND AUCTION, Scott Arboretum, Swarthmore College, Wister Center, Swarthmore, PA,
with light reception
Dig and Divide demonstration, and learn how to site and plant peonies! Learn about herbaceous, tree and Itoh hybrid peonies along with discussion from MAPS members. Learn how to do all of these things at this time of year for the best results!
Following the lecture, the Mid-Atlantic Peony Society will hold a reception, peony sale and auction. Autumn is the perfect time for adding peonies to your garden!
